Kenya’s IT company invests $3.9 million

NAIROBI, Kenya: Impact Distribution East Africa, the leading African information technology distributor has opened an office in Nairobi, Kenya and is investing Ksh280 in building the company's operational capacity, accounting and logistics systems, capacity building initiatives and human resource development in the East African operations.
The company opened the office after being awarded the Microsoft distribution rights for the East African countries comprising Kenya, Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Tanzania towards the end of October last year. The company will handle all supply activities for both products and software including stock-piling of supplies and the appointment and development of resellers. “Our role is to support Microsoft and its channel partners in the acquisition of Microsoft products and licenses, growing the Microsoft brand, enhancing the capacity of the local partner ecosystem through periodic training initiatives, securing credit lines to support the growing business as well as extending credit terms required by partners,” said the company's director Wanja Muriithi. Impact Distribution is an established certified Microsoft Distribution and a Gold Certified License Delivery partner. The company has been the award winning distributor of Microsoft products in East and Southern Africa for the last three consecutive years and boasts of a 70% market share of all the Microsoft sales.
